At our 32nd luncheon on December 6, 2023, we celebrated the following four agencies that received grants in 2023:
Better Bound Book Store & Youth Development is an agency committed to increasing economic and academic opportunities for underserved youth and developing self-efficacy and personal life skills. Good Folks will be supporting upgrades to their packing workstation, and modernizing their computer equipment.
Housing Development Corporation of Rock Hill is furthering their mission of providing and improving housing opportunities for low to moderate-income residents. Good Folks funding will be used to equip each of 405 West Main Street’s PSH units with household appliances; i.e. washer and dryer, refrigerator, and cooking ranges.
Mercy House is an independent living home for at-risk individuals under the care of a local hospice agency. Good Folks is supporting their efforts to secure overnight sitters for the residents during the overnight hours when volunteers are not available.
Her Place is a transitional home for women that provides a two-year program designed to assist homeless women who are at least 30 years of age with a safe place to begin healing from the traumas of their lives. Good Folks will be supporting operational costs and healthcare costs for program participants.
